A shop-vac gets the visible puddle. Our Water Extraction process is built for what's still soaking into materials underneath, which is where the real damage lives.

Different surfaces hold water differently — concrete, hardwood, and carpet pad each need their own extraction technique and dwell time, not a single generic approach applied to all three.
None of this changes for a small job either — the same standard applies whether it's a single-room water extraction call or a larger one.
We built this list around what typically goes wrong when water extraction gets handled by a generalist instead of a specialist.
Commercial extraction units outpull portable equipment on every surface type we work with.
A job isn't finished until moisture readings confirm it, not a visual pass-through.
Less drive time means extraction starts sooner, which matters most in the first hours.
You know the number before extraction starts, based on what we actually find.
Every part of water extraction work below carries the same documentation standard, whether it's a small job or a larger one.
We clear the obvious water fast, then go after what's still trapped in materials.
Specialized wands lift water between boards without forcing moisture deeper into the wood.
Pad gets extracted independently from the carpet surface, since it retains water far longer.
Slab surfaces absorb and release moisture on a different timeline than wood subfloor.
We flag salvageable contents before starting so you're not guessing what to keep.
We don't sign off on extraction without a documented reading behind it.
This is the same sequence every water extraction job follows, regardless of size.
Dispatch gathers just enough detail to load the right equipment before the truck leaves.
Local staging is what makes rapid arrival possible, rather than a promise with nothing behind it.
A technician assesses the scope on-site and provides a written flat-rate quote before any work begins.
Work continues until the job meets our documented completion standard, verified before we call it done.
We don't cherry-pick which water extraction jobs get reviewed — this is a representative cross-section.
"Moisture readings after the fact gave me real confidence, not just a verbal assurance."
Jasper L., Cotuit"They tested pad separately from carpet, which caught moisture I would've missed entirely."
Rosalind P., Cotuit"Extraction from our finished basement slab was handled with a completely different approach than I expected, and they explained why."
Micah S., Cotuit"The pad testing caught moisture the carpet surface alone never would have revealed."
Fernanda Q., Cotuit"Extraction under a built-in bookshelf unit was handled without us having to empty and move it ourselves first."
Zora P., CotuitThese are the questions we hear most often about water extraction, gathered from real calls, not a generic template list.
Aqua Guard Water Damage dispatches water extraction specialists throughout Cotuit and the surrounding zip codes, including 2635.
